Couple Q's:

Are vapor monitor sensors shot if they come into contact with water? I'd like to put mine right to the front of the motor mount on the stringer as I think that's the lowest place without getting wet, but it COULD get wet in rare conditions.

How reliable are they? I'd still do the sniff test but if the sensor is in operating order are they pretty accurate?

I've had one in the bilge compartment of my boat for 11 years and it still works fine. It's also been wet a time or three.
