Guys, I have noticed the fixtures on the ouside of my "89 38xx are cracked. These are the ones that are moveable and on either side of the sliding door in the cockpit. The control switch for these are on the 4switch column at the wetbar. The last switch turns these on. I am looking to replace these fixtures and saw some on sailorsam.com that use the MR16 bulbs. Will these work?

I don't know if the original fixtures had a wet rating or not. I do know when I tried to remove the screws and then the mounted portion to the wall it would not come loose. It will take a putty knife and some prying to get them off the wall even after screws are removed. What do you all think. By using the MR16 bulbs I will be able to put BLUE lights in them and illuminate the cockpit with a blue wash I hope. Any suggestions are thankfully taken.

Looking at the ad, I have the impression that this fixture accepts G4 bulbs but not the MR16 you wanted.

Hallo, me again. Looking also at their description of the replacement bulb, I have to admit that perhaps the MR16 does fit. Notice, however, that the ad says that the fixture may not get wet.

I understand about these fixtures not supposed to get wet. Were the original Bayliner fixtures waterproof? Can you still get the old fixtures?
