My fresh water pump is not pumping water when turned on at the sink.
Could there be a air lock?
The motor is on and it has worked earlier this year.

Work it backwards, starting with easiest and most common failures...
  • Is there water flow at another sink/shower?
  • Is there water in the tank?
  • You say "the motor is on". What exactly does that mean? Is it that the pump motor is selected to on and is running? Or is it just the switch that is selected to on? We need to confirm the pump motor is actually running.
  • Breakers/fuses - Is there power at the switch? Is there power to the motor?
  • Is there flow from the tank to the pump suction side?

Do you hear the pump working but it won't prime? Mine did the same thing last week. I turned the pump on, then unscrewed the hose (not all the way) that is attached to the outflow on the pump. A bunch of air purged out and it primed right up.

The water pump is on but the sink faucet is dry.
There is flow to the pump.
Power to the switch and the water pump runs.
Thanks

I had this problem earlier in the year. At 1st the water worked, and then it didn't. Pump ran, but no water (or even air) seemed to spit out. Dealer unscrewed head from shower in the head, turned on the cold water, and then sucked. He got a mouthful of water but it primed the pump and he tells me it works fine now.

It might be more effective at the head faucet because it is a shorter run to the pump than at the galley sink.

So, you have water flowing to the pump. ** be sure to check/clean the screen on the pump inlet. Mine had a bit of slime & a fair bit of plastic debris (sawdust) from new. Clean it out & put it back together. From there it typically exits the pump & goes to a Tee fitting, one side becomes your "cold" water to the taps, the other goes from the Tee to the H/W tank. Then, I would take the line off that goes into the Tee & check for pressure from the pump. You should have difficulty holding the water back. (Have your buddy do this test, cause someone will get wet.) If the pump builds pressure, then it 's ok & you can look further down the line. Have you allowed time for the hot water tank to fill? This would take about 5-7 minutes. Also be sure that you have closed the drain tap on the H/W tank or you will just fill the bilge. I have a 2000 2655 that will do the same thing on the first fill of the season. If all this checks out give it a few more minutes to purge the air from the lines. Go to each tap & turn on the cold, as well as the hot individuallu till you have full flow of water then move on. Recheck that the tank still has plenty of water after all that then your good to go.

The only thing I did not check is the outflow, because it is so difficult to get to. I do not like confined spaces.
I will try again tomorrow. Thanks for all the help...
