i have a 1989 bayliner open bow with outboard motor and need to replace transom,i have taken off the the cap covering the transom and have started to remove rotted wood and i dont see the risers for they are encased in fiber glass and seem to be seperate from the transom my question is can i just replace the transom wood and i was wondering if anyone knows the dimensions of the wood

First, Welcome! Next, the number one request to new members, Please add some information about your boat like the model, year and motor along with generally where you live and enjoy your boat. You never know, another member may live just up the street.
As to your issue, the surgery is a but more major than digging out between the inner fiberglass ant the transom. You are going to have to get under the motor well inside all the way to the bottom of the boat.
