hey guys in new to the forum but a long time boater and I am stumped..... I have 1983 Capri BR 1950 model. I have the Volvo penta aq125A 4 cylinder with the 270 out drive and I'm at a loss. yesterday on the water i was coming out of the no wake zone and gave it throttle to 4000rpm and it did great for about 2 min, all of a sudden it fell on its face and lost all power but did not die. It went back to about 2000 rpm and then shot back up to 3700 for a split second and dropped back to 2000 but did not die. i backed off the throttle and let it idle for a a good minute, it sounded healthy and very responsive no missing or rough idle. I was told it could be ignition coil or maybe a ignition condenser.... I replaced points and gaped to .16 replaced coil and condenser along with cap and rotor... with good faith I took it back out today and same thing... I am thinking of replacing the fuel pump because it starting to sound like fuel starvation but I'm not sure. If someone can point me in a better direction on things to check I would appreciate it

Welcome. Please add your boat data and the area where you live to your signature. It helps us help you and you never know, a member may live next door.
What you are experiencing is classic of a clogging fuel filter. Change all of them if there's more than one and you should be good to go.

Hoping that I got it figured out today. The fuel hose from pump to carb was pretty old and brittle upon taking it off today I noticed it was flaking. I pulled the top of the solex carb off and I took the float needle off to clean and there was a small piece of hose blocking the fuel passage into the bowl
