They are metric and normal steel. If you just noticed it missing, you may be able to find it in the bilge or keel. I have several types of "magnets on a stick" I use for just that purpose.
Failing retrieval, here is a really good parts manual you need to bookmark. Note that there are three designs of the TI and you need the engine serial number to be working on the correct assembly. That will get you a part number for the nut.
You could, remove another nut from the connection that's the same size and go to the local hardware store or auto supply store the repair shops use.

Thanks, I have the manual and there is a picture with the nut showing, but still no info about it. No size, number, material or similar or thread "density". Have now tried several options but still not the riht one. It sems to be 10 mm in diameter...but no other luck. Any ideas?

10mm - 1.50 thread is the most common from what I have worked with.

In general, anything manufactured outside of the US and Canada will be designed and manufactured with metric threads and dimensions.
Exceptions would include older stuff made in the UK.
Mechanics and machinists have to be familiar with both systems for the foreseeable future.
