To continue the concrete saga all removed 178- 180 lbs., cleaned up, and 3 layers of fiberglass added for security and gelcoat on top.

The plywood cover reinstalled and Gel coated, next will be to install a hatch in the opening.

Are there any reports of concrete in a 3870 on the stb side aft corner sealed compartment below the deck?
Reason I ask is my hidden compartment was cut out and a small hull bottom repair was made.

As I stated the hidden panel is already open, I was wondering if concrete was in there or just a repair from a submerged object.
This boat was the command boat for the Prince William Sound oil spill in Nuka Bay Alaska west of PWS.

OK I understand, on my project the hatch is installed and working, one more unplanned task of the punch list, Skeeter can inspect when he comes up to visit, adding picture.

Great job!

I can't tell from the photos is there's one already, but you may want to drill a limber hole that connects this compartment to the bilge. That way any water that gets in will run into the bilge.

Checked mine today, no concrete. Was kinda hoping to find it there because it would be an easy way to shed weight in the rear.

The Admiral and I just came from spending the weekend with Fritz and his Admiral. After coffee and BS session we went to inspect the progress of his shipyard rebuild and all I can say is WOW what a nice job he is doing on his vessel.
The fuel fill being moved to top of aft bulkhead and doing away with all of the elbows that Bayliner in there great wisdom feel that they had to put in the fill hoses to make refueling as hard as possible and spill as much fuel as you can should take a lesson from Fritz.
He has the engine still hanging but about ready to drop onto the mounts.
I can't hardly wait to see how it performs with the new diesel engine.
Good job FRITZMAN :)

I had to replace my fuel fill hose because it was leaking like a soaker garden hose. I contemplated moving it much lower on the transom so I could refuel easier without having to climb up onto the boat while it's on the trailer. I also thought about putting it on top of the transom so the gas filler won't fall off. Then I realized this is not my forever boat as I plan to relocate somewhere warm and sunny asap so I'm gonna try not to do any serious customizations.
