The edges are beveled because it's easier to install a piece like this since it has to be slide into place and would push the resin paste out as I did. With the beveled edge I can position it in place and then squeeze the paste in with the tip of a plastic baggie. This way I'm also ensured that all the wood edges are sealed and won't soak water from anywhere.
Here's an example of what I'm doing. After the glass is laid over it, it's IMO stronger than just tabbing over a square edged part that's sitting flat against the hull.

Oh OK. Makes sense to me. The paste is a mixture of resin and fibers I assume and once cured you would then glass the joint. Correct?

Today's been a little more involved than I originally thought it would be just to install the bulkhead. Something just didn't feel right when I lined it up with a square to the stringers. So the only real way to know if it would line up right was to install the berth and helm walls with both doors installed to make sure I get the bulkhead lined up properly. After trimming the bottom edge of the berth wall to fit on top of the 3/4" floor, (they had 5/8" in originally), I lined it up with all the indent marks that were in the ceiling material and squared it up so the door opened and closed properly.

Then I put in the helm wall and did the same with the bathroom door alignment. Boy am I glad I listened to my inner voice. If I had put the bulkhead in at a square angle to the stringer it wouldn't have fit right. The port side of the helm wall where the bathroom door latches is farther forward than the Strb. side. I guess they did that to add more room to walk around it. I don't really know what else to think.
I sanded down the surface and edges of the bulkhead since I had laid up a layer of mat/biax on both sides and the edges last night. Biax leaves a bumpy surface when it's cured up and I wanted it smooth so it set against the wall flat and even. Brushing another coat of resin around the edges to seal the edges of the exposed fibers, it was ready to install.
All ready to install and the bag full of paste ready.

Installed and curing. The C clamp vice grips are holding it in position so I didn't move it when I smoothed out the paste on the other side.

It's kind of cool seeing the walls and doors in again. Here it all sits with the paste curing up till tomorrow. Then it all comes apart again. At least I'm heading in the right direction! B)

Looks great Larry, nice to see the walls in even though it was temporary. Won't be long before there up for good. You keep the paste in a zip lock, do you squeeze it out of the bag into the joint or?

Well, I do have to mix the resin and then add the fiber grindings first. Then I transfer it into another cup that has the zip lock sitting in it with the bag folded over the edge. It makes it easier to fill the bag that way. Just before I'm ready to use the paste, I cut about 1/2" off one corner so I can squeeze and force the paste deep into the beveled edge of the bulkhead. Then I use a plastic bodywork squeegee to force it into the joint and smooth it out.

Do I need to do a video so my explanation makes more sense?

Yes everything is OK. It's just that it's getting close to spring time and my business of rebuilding motorcycle carbs and helping get folks bikes running and built has stepped up a bit. I've done 3 sets of carbs and made a set of fiberglass fairing lowers in the last 6 days. So time is precious when it comes to working on the boat. BUT, I AM in there today getting ready to glass over the last bulkhead and the final layers in those sections. I already removed the two walls so I can get things finished. This afternoon I ground the radius corners smooth and have cut all the mat/biax out for the center sections. I still have to cut out the end pieces though so I can lay it all up at once. The temps are going up here now, so I'll be laying it up in the morning hopefully before it gets too warm inside the boat. I like the cool temps when I'm laying two layers at once.

Here's the bulkhead and adjoining sections all prepared for the final layers of glass.

The other really cool thing that has transpired is that I found a company locally that is going to make my fresh water plastic tank for under $500. I'm going to have it made with 3/8" polypropylene plastic. I could go 1/4" but, as usual I go with the "overkill" side. I just don't ever want to cut out the floor again because the tanks leaking from a split seam.
I want to finish what I'm doing now before I work on the fresh water tank bedding. But it's getting there.

The next thing that is in the works that will put this to a stop is that my daughter is expecting her first child any day now. I just hope I don't have a bunch of resin mixed up when I get the call. But it'll be worth it as long as I haven't started laying up glass yet.

It may not be as much as usually done at one time, but I got the final two layers laid on tonight in the bathroom center section side of the last bulkhead.
I'll be getting as much done as I can a little at a time in the next week. I can't get too in depth with big sections at one time since I never know when the call to be "a Grandpa" will come.
See, not much, but it's progress.

I suppose building in access to the tanks would compromise water proofing?

Thanks malaphred, that's probably what he was asking. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to make the floor above the water tank removable, or just have access panels at each end for inspection and accessibility.

I'm still here pacing and not thinking clearly. My daughter is still in labor, over 31 hours now.
