I used a chain saw sharpening file to cut a slot in the perimeter of a nickle. It makes a perfect replacement for the plastic window lock -- the one that snaps whenever it's in the wrong position when the window is closed.

My grand daughter broke one of the window knobs off on my 1990 3288. I couldn't find a match so I went to a local hardware store (Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace) and bought 2 round black drawer knobs. You will have to fabricate a washer for the screw.
