I'm in need of some advice again.... ;)
My trailer has the two rubber V cushions the bow cradles in and it is a real bear to get the bow pad eye over the lower one when loading the boat.
It marks up boat when sliding into them. I replaced the lower one to alleviate most of the marking but not all.
I was wondering if there is a roller type to replace mine.
I have inserted some pictures

I have a single roller as my bow catch. It seems to work pretty well. Even so, every time I get her cranked up tight against the roller when I pull her up from the ramp there is a couple of inch gap between the hull and the roller. I give the trailer a "brake check" and she slides right into place. I honestly hate doing that but haven't figured a better way.

Hi Fritz
It looks like your rollers are on separate brackets and work independently ?
Mine is on the same bracket and both pivot at same time.
I'll have to remember to check yours out when I come up. Have to tie a string around my finger!!!! :silly:
AKNURSE, I have the same problem if I don't really crank boat up. I think that would kind of scare me also, that's a lot of weight to be shifting on the bunks and maybe miss the roller. I don't like the bow bouncing when I'm going down the road
Where are you located AKNURSE?? I am in Ketchikan... :)

Good morning and one day closer to spring, Skeeter there are 2 rollers on a rocker so there swivel when the bow connects and wider since there in 3 sections, 2 on the outside. Alaskan Spirit the bow pulpit is Fritz build and I have a mold, my plan is to lay up one ore 2 more later in the year. Ran in to one more issue in fitting the exhaust on my boat so that is 1st on the list, fish are calling. :cheer:

Hi All 2859rs,

My usual complaint about the boat is that while has a lot of "gentile" storage inside the cabin (cabinets, hanging locker, space under v-berth, etc.), there is not enough space for things like crabpots, pot lines, buoys, fenders, downrigger weights, etc. These things can be wet and dirty, thus, according to my wife, inadmissible to the cabin.

So in order to increase the outside storage I was thinking about moving the water heater to the space behind the fridge. This locker is hard to access, so we put there some stuff that is not used on a regular basis. My intention is to cut the access door to this area from under the dinette table, and move the water heater there. All hoses can be easily routed along the aft berth headboard, so installation is fairly straightforward. It will free some valuable cubic footage in the engine compartment easily accessible from the cockpit port hatch.

So... what do you think? Good idea/bad idea/pros/cons - any input will be greatly appreciated!

April/may for kitimat..........what are you guys after that early in the year? Just curious!

We were out in Barnard harbour for Father's day last year in my old boat (trophy 2459). The fishing was very very slow.

Can't wait to take the new boat out there this year but are thinking last week of June 1st week of July this time.

Sketch, Wife and I have been doing Kitimat the last 2 weeks of April for years. ( extended boating season ). Weathers not bad ( not Hot ). No Bugs, No Crowds. Room at all the docks. Camp may be back at barnard this year. Love the taste fresh king crab. The fishing is poor this time of the year but we are learning how to do it and we have 2 weeks to load the cooler. Mostly it's the extended season.

Good morning to the 2859 crowd, Fisherman moving the water heater to that location would work, now remember you have extra weight on the port side in form of concrete at least on the earlier 2859 units I polled 180 Lb. out of the are under the bat. The down rigger balls I store under the cabin floor, is all in the name of weight distribution, I will post a picture of the hatch.

Hello Fritzman,

I've been looking around for a bow pulpit and noticed the picture you posted on the 18th, did you buy that somewhere or did you fab that yourself?

Hi Big Daddy and welcome to this forum, you are in the correct spot to get answers on 2859 questions, 1000 lb. change is a loaded boat to a factory dry boat, there will always be some changer in model years as in what components where added or not, as mentioned in the post above, the concrete was installed by Bayliner to balance the boat But after we load them up add battery's coolers it will change. :cheer:

Hi Flemming, up to now the only sot has been under the port shelf for the concrete, my thoughts are to offset the galley and head components, with very little thought given to what folks would load. As for the water heater relocation, I have heater hoses running to under the step for the heater, just need to bleed out the air prior to connecting the return hose. :cheer:
