Thank You (6 months later LOLOL)!!!
Found out it has an A1 drive.
Just got the bottom cleaned and re-painted, and what a difference that makes!
Up on plane in about 20 seconds and runs to 30 mph with no problem whatsoever!

1996 7.4l Bavo III our second boat together and our best choice! We have no complaints at all and wish we had found our boat sooner. We spend our time on Lake Coeur d'Alene.

2004 285 350 MPI BIII we bought last August. So far we love it! We added new carpets, installing a new front top and curtains on the sun bridge and deck mounts for the downriggers.

Looks great, I have a 2002. Can you post pics of where you installed the downriggers and how?

This is our 96 2855. We have owned it a few years and it has been fantastic! We added the swim platform and under water lights.

There is a Cannon mount on the starboard side between the molded step/shelf in the side wall and the stern. The PO installed a inspection port in the wall to access the underside of the mount to install the fasteners and backer board.do the same on this side. I need to install another inspection port on the port side in the same area to be able to add the backer board and fasteners for my Scotty's when I change it all out this spring.

I think you can see the Cannon mount in this picture on the starboard side near the stern. I had a towel stuck in the port when I took this picture.

Just bought this 2000 2855. The 7.4 was replaced with the 6.2 (stroked 5.7) 12 months ago, now with 45 hours on the clock. Just prior to my purchase the owner had a brand new transom mount and bravo 3 leg fitted (see photo).

I drove a vey nice 2001 model with the original 7.4 and it achieved a respectable 28.5 knots. My 6.2 makes 32 knots at 5400 rpm, and planes nicely at 20knots and 3400 rpm. The small block is about 10 nm down on touque but has nearly 40 more horses. Climb out of the hole is almost the same.

Fuel ecomy to come, but most say the 6.2 does well.

Hi there. We have a 2012 285 cruiser with the 350 mag SeaCore. Have you had any overheating issues with yours? Tried to take it out today and 5 minutes into the trip the warning alarm went off and gauges at max temp.
