Wow, really nice boat icewalker. Maybe I missed it when I looked, but did you have the bow thruster professionally installed? I'd like to do a couple mods like the bow thruster, or at least the windlass for sure. Looks like a beautiful place based on the pictures too.

Icewaker,

You have some great mods there. I would love to hear more about how you did your bow thruster installation. What tools and materials you needed, what thruster you used and the process.

Greg

greg, i used a lewmar 140tt 3hp with an extra touch pad on the alaska bulk head for fishing, west system epoxy. a 6" hole saw to start but that was a waste of time. use a saws all and lots of blades from start to finish, unless you can get your hands on a hole saw thats 30" deep. remember the three most important things is location, location, location. flemming

fritz, if you are not going to remove your kicker while traveling i recommend a travel brace. after installing my mount and kicker we made about 200 miles and from the jarring the mount was cracking. since i built the travel brace we have put on probably 10,000 hwy. miles and its still solid. flemming

Alaska Spirit, Dan when I asked you about your cruising speed with your D4 you said 24-28 mph. What speed are you at when you are WOT and whats your RPM. Because I think you should do better than my KAD 42. Thank Flemmigg

Okay try this again, posted once but not sure where it went. I posted wrong info anyway. My WOT is about 35 mph at about 3500 rpm. Depending on water and tide. I watch my fuel rate and ride for my cruse, more than what my MPH is. I usually average about 2.5 MPG. Dan

Dan. Hows the hip coming, are you able to use the leg? 35 MPH is real nice. I am 30 MPH @ 3900 and don't have a flow meter on mine. The volvo rep can not tell me where my best fuel economy should be. With yours do you find its best at 24-28 MPH. All they could tell me is to go WOT then cut back 200 RPM for cruise, I cut back 4-500. Spring fever is setting in, until 2 nights ago the temperature was still going down to -30F. last night it didn't freeze. Thanks Flemming.

I purchased a 2006 2859 with the small block 350/300. I have completly redesigned the interior to suit the boss lady and I cruising the ICW. Few questions. I have a Raymarine C80 and want to add radar. Would it be better to buy thw analog antenna or don't waste the money but go ahead and buy one of the new HD digital GPS and display?. Also I want to install an autopilot with a hand held remote. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I will post pictures of my interior redsign in a week or so as I am almost finished.

Bow roller update, now that I can open the shop doors and fully retrieve the anchor I find that the bow roller needs to be moved 4" ahead in order for the anchor to sit in the proper place. Flemming
