Never looked here before, so I would like to share my 2359. It's a 2005 and we love it. There is an issue with water in the fish wells when running in a side chop, but I have some plugs that fit from the inside that stops the water on the side we use to store stuff. The port side is for FISH. I have added much needed storage. I built a shelf across the bow in the cuddy that holds a lot, and I made a pull out drawer under the rear bench at the table. It is far more convenient than tearing the seat apart any time you are looking for something. We spend 1-2 weeks out on fishing trips and are quite comfortable.

In the picture you will see that the downriggers are mounted sorta mid ship. It allows me to get behind it to reach back to net the catch of the day. The way they were mounted allows a degree of flex to the gunnel with out adding a bracket. This set up strengthens the mount and is designed so that you can access the bolts by removing the vent covers on the side The guy that figured it out had it dialed in, works great.

Nice! I just bought mine last July and only been out for Muskie so haven't run my down riggers. One thing I need to work on is my port side fish well has loose hinges, but I cannot figure out how to get them tight. The screws just spin on what fastener that is behind there.

What outdrive ratio do you have for you 5.7L? I bought a 1992 2359 that was repowered with a 2008 Mercruiser MPI 5.0L and the outdrive is the original outdrive from when the boat had a V6 motor in it at a 1.81:1 ratio. I feel like it is geared too low. Thinking it should be replaced with a 1.6:1 or a 1.4:1. I have an Alpha one gen 2 setup.
Thanks

So I bought my 2004 2359 last July and had an issue on it leaning to port hard while on plane randomly. Only way to correct was to slow down off plane. So when it first happened I thought it was me being new to using trim tabs and just had them adjusted wrong. Well this season it has happened a few other times. The last time boat was empty of fishing gear and only had my wife and son ( 11 year old) on board. What even more odd is it has a slight lean to starboard when sitting at rest so to have it lean over to port hard while running. I have been leaving the trim tabs fully up to see if it is related to them or something else? Anyone have these issues? Is this bow steer?

Thanks in advance!

I recently purchased a 1994 2359 5.7 Alpha One and it has a 4 blade aluminum 14.5 x 15 prop. It doesn't plane quickly either, but what's worse IMO is the cruising RPM is too high. Looking for a new prop to lower RPM to 3000-3200 at cruise - maybe a 17 is the answer. Planning on replacing in a couple of weeks. Have you made a choice?

The new prop made a difference. found a slightly used Rev4 17. It had the desire effect of lowering cruising RPM. Using the trim tabs to help getting up on step helps, now cruising at 3400 RPM at 25MPH. Would like to lower it still, but would be concerned about the 19 being too slow to plane.

looks great. did you replace the carptet on the compartment walls with new? Looks very nice. If so, was it difficult?
would love to hear how you did it.
