Just picked up a used (2000) 2359 with 5.7 this weekend... so count me in as part of the club. I've been looking for a used 2359 for over a year up here in Alaska and I had to get this one after I saw it. I plan on going out of Prince William Sound here in Alaska for some salmon and halibut fishing. I plan to go out with my wife and 2 yr old boy. Now I just need the snow to melt!!!

Congratulations on your boat! Yeah, it's tough to find a used one, isn't it? We ended up buying a leftover, end of the season 2008. You'll find that as long as the sun is out, the pilothouse will warm up nicely. We got a ProCat catalytic heater for dark days. It runs on propane, but at at a lower temp so you don't have to worry carbon monoxide. But make sure you've got a CO detector (or two) anyway.

Welcome Carl !! Did you get the other 2006(2359) OBC liquidation boat from Sundance ???That is where we purchased ours. I think the 2006's went to sundance and Lake union sea ray got the 2007's.Our maiden voyage hopefully will be mothers day weekend to the San Juans.
Outfitting a new boat is very big $$$, so we are finding out. We are probobly 80-90% there. Most of our gear has come from Craigslist,E-bay and boat dealer liquidation sales. dinghys, kickers, flares, bumpers, safety gear, anchors, lines, spare props etc really add up. Ours came fully fresh water cooled and with all of the electronics we needed, although the GPS and VHF are DSC capable they were not hooked together. Also they mounted the GPS antenna in the recess on the roof for the mast light....I am in the process of moving the antenna so the inflatable dinghy can be carried on the roof. Lots of work to do, I am hoping for some better weather so I can buff & polish.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress !!

Sounds really similar to our story. I was on my way home from west marine and saw the liquidation boats at the old OBC lot in fife(the 2-2359's were closest to the road). Tracked them down to Ted @ sundance and his price was fantastic. The prices at the lake union sea ray liquidation were not very impressive in my opinion, the 06's at sundance and the 07's at LUSR were nearly identical boats. Have fun and enjoy your boat !!!

Hey Guys,

I have a 2004 2359 pro. Use it from Westport up to Nootka sound (so far). This is my second boat and my second trophy. My first boat was a 1802 trophy. As you can see I have made several mods to the boat to make it more for my fitting (that is just the out side, I have made many more mods behind the scenes). always thinking of way to better the boat. I look forward in sharing thoughts and ideas.

O.k. so we are trying to organize and pack the boat for next weekends trip to our cabin. We have a few questions and maybe you can help:
Are your cushions in the front berth all the same level ?? ours seem to be uneven ?? Also there is a small area over the head that does not have a cushion, I will try to get pictures today to help explain this.
Thanks in advance
Ron

The cushions on the v-berth are all the same height. The mid-berth (portside) is lower.

If I remember correctly, there's a space barely large enough to put a foot in when all the cushions are in place. I assume that's because we're not supposed to step on the one over the head.

Ours is a 2007 Trophy 2359, Cummins 220hp turbo diesel and she runs sweet! I have run her from Bellingham out to Race Rocks, BC several times and cruised around the San Juans and up around Saturna and Tumbo Islands with her. Now you asked about fuel use and range; both are proportionate to several factors that affect them: speed, load (weight in boat), and the seas. Usually my wife and I are alone with fishing gear and a full tank (87 gallons). We don't like to go out in anything more than 2-3 foot chop, it's just annoying, and beats the crap out of my back. I run her at 28 to 30 mph and +/- 2900 rpm (I use the rpm guage more than I do the speed). Now this is going to sound ridiculous but I have verified it over several trips; we average 4.5 - 4.6 gallons per hour. That works out to around 391 miles range.

We bought our 2359 in 2007 and ordered it custom built with the diesel. We had a 2052 with a 120hp Cummins turbo diesel and traded it on the new boat once I discovered Trophy were putting a diesel in the 2007 2359. The maintenance has been minimal. Simple oil changes and routine maintenance on the Bravo Three stern drive are all that has been required. At the moment we have +/- 175 hours on her and that is simply a reflection of last summer's fuel prices.

I would highly recommend the 2359 with diesel engine.

I have a boat, new to me, that needs a kicker. It is the 2005 model. My wife and I are loving the boat. I will use it on trips on the ocean. I am not sure about the 20 or 25 inch shaft length and type of mount. I will probably buy the Mercury 9.9pro kicker. Please send pics or make suggestions. Try putting your question in the tech area.............I have a 2352 and have a short shaft 15 hp 4 stroker which will be mounted on my swm platform. If given the choice.............LONG shaft for sure.
you did not say where your going to be mounting/ transom or swim platform?
9.9 will work just fine, 4 stroker u can tap into fuel tank but make sure u have a shutoff valve installed. Do a search and you will see many posts on kickers/brackets/etc.

I have been to the dealer and to many websites, and it appears it will be a custom job only. I am about to have one made for mine.
