I finally braved working on replacing the infamous monkey fur in the cabin. I started with the sides around the bearth.

Pic below shows the new foam vinyl cut out on placed loosely on the port side of the berth so you can see the difference with the time worn monkey fur on the starboard side

monkey fur removed and new foam vinyl prepped with glue

Both sides now glues fast and the result is not too shabby considering that its my first attempt.

Phase 2 will be the front wall where the anchor locker is located. :pinch:

I did not install an extra dedicated battery to the bow thruster alone,I just copied the wiring on 3 other boats on my dock who have the same setup where it is wired directly to the start battery , fused breaker and also with a switch so that i can cut all power to the bow truster in case of an emergency. The bowthruster is mostly used when the boat engine is already running and the start battery is directly being charged from the alternator.

My start battery is a 75 amp Varta marine that has not let me down the past 3 years. in the future, i plan to upgrade it to a 110 amp.

Bowsprit/bow platform project.

Remaining the last step of bolting the cross bars under the platform and it will be finished.

The pics below give a general idea of how it will look.

Very nice Obi... I assume its professionally done? If not, even more congrats for a fine job.

FYI, I had my walk out door rebuilt so it is only 1" or less open at the bottom so no cell phones or other devices slip under the door and into the water...

Yep I can't take credit for the job, it was professionally done.

Good idea with the transom door though,

I will be better equipped to answer that after one year of use , hope I do not regret it .
So far I have already had fish oil ,guts, blood , pesky children muddy footprints on the new floor which came right off by just wiping the area with a rag and a little dishwashing soap. I have not had the need to scrubwash my deck every 14 days as usual too remove particles , grime and dust that previously got trapped in the rough non slip floor.

Looks amazing - what product is that - what type of flooring / material. I have a 242 and would like to do the same thing. I've been looking at SeaDek.

It's a synthetic flooring called Flexiteek, it and really looks like the real thing with wood grain, palpable veins and stuff.
I can take a close up picture for you this weekend if you like.

Wow, good for you. That job is on my list as well. What vinyl product did you use? Also, I noticed one of your other photos of your cockpit area shows a white plug covering the socket for the table support. What is that, or where did it come from/

It's a material called 'polymorph plastic' that I bought on eBay. It comes as granules and you can form it into anything. It can be used over and over again by reforming it . In its normal state, it is as hard as Delrin/nylon .

Here is a video of how practical and easy it is to use

I took some closeup pics of the synthetic flooring today to demonstrate the texture, as you can see its looks very much like real wood.
