Eight photos of a boat, and not one has a bikini-clad girl in it. And Denmark no less, shameful... (Nice boat though!) B)

I am not sure if I am supposed to post here or over in the 2452 owners. I have 2002, so, by name I have a 2452, but by form and features I am more akin to a 242. A child of two worlds.

Anyway - Here are some pictures of the boat - delivered Saturday!

It's there.

What he does need is one of these. More and more of them here by me coming off Sandy boats, on Craigs.

Yeah it's a pretty great work area - it's about 20 minutes away from the house (wish it were in the backyard). Not heated, but we rarely need that.

Doug, I have yet to get into the toilet - still working on the fun stuff - what does the blackwater access look like?

Previous owner was in San Diego and the boat sat in his driveway, so the seats need to be replaced from sun damage and I'm putting in a new dash since the old one was faded. As I get the work done I'll add pictures for before and after.

I can see the water marks on the monkey fur, so I anticipate there is some leaking, probably from the windows and rubrail as others have seen (see pictures), but what I can't figure out is why I couldn't detect any moisture after delivery. I would think that driving 60mph down the highway in the heavy Oregon rains would have resulted in some dampness that would allow me to and hone in on the source a bit, but there was nothing!
I'd love to get as much of the resealing done this winter, so if anybody has any tips on how to effectively detect where the leaks are coming from, I would appreciate them! I've attached pictures of the stains here, so if you have any previous experience with similar leaks and where you found the leak that led to the corresponding stain, I would love some advice!

Thanks in advance!

David

Does anyone know what type of light bulb I need to replace the mast light on a 2002 252? My friend was going to take the boat out tonight but noticed it was out.

Thanks!

Perfect. Thanks, Doug. Any idea if the other nav lights use the same bulbs?

Thanks

Bow lights are festoon but shorter then the ones in the cockpit roof. All cabin lights are twin prongs as per the previous post. If I were to keep the festoon light bulbs, I would buy some trailer electrical grease and grease the metal caps as they get a lot of corrosion.... remember, di-electric does not carry an electrical charge so it is not recommended to use on bulbs.

For pre-2001, I am not sure what bulbs are except the bow lights are the same.. festoon. I changed my bow lights to the 2nm Attwood LED. 1NM is fine but I wanted better brightness and they were only a few bucks more and the stamping on the stainless steel housing was cleaner as well... www.ebay.com/itm/Attwood-Red-Green-LED-S...em2ebfb0a9f1&vxp=mtr

I did not look for the best prices... be sure to look for the 2nm bow lights... very nice and they are sealed from water...

Hey guys - real basic question: How do you remove the interior cabin light housing to replace them? With the little flip switch, it can't twist much, so I anticipate you just have to pop them off, but I didn't want to torque on them too much in case there is a secret!!

Thanks!

Another question - I was posting about this in another thread, but had all older generation guys commenting - do you guys know what the ignition alarm looks like in the 242 and where under the dash it is located? Mine is deafeningly loud and I want to wrap a little tape around it or something to help dampen the sound a bit!

You pop off the front cover with a small flat screwdriver which now exposes the screws inside the housing.

I have never really looked for mine but I guess if you remove the top cover of your dashboard so that you can look under it , then turn your ignition key half on to activate the alarm , the sound will surly guide you to the alarm unit.
