I was on a face dock in Savannah - and up until yesterday most of the models had Irma coming ashore here.

Could not get hauled out but the big yacht yard offered me a spot in their basin, which I gladly accepted.

:)

Hmmm... if you do get a decent storm surge up there, it remains to be seen if the marina dock stays in one piece and the cleats hold. That's one heavy boat swinging on it.

Btdt. Funny thing is, if you make homemade ice cream on the dock things get a lot more fun for everyone.

I think the boats are what is going to hold the dock in place... since yesterday they have all added a bunch of lines and about 60% of them are going to large shore shore cleats/pilings. In any case its a heck of a lot better than where I was..

Hey Kev. Heard that you had quite a large tidal surge up that way. How did the docks and your craft go?? Hope all OK. Cheers

I feel inadequate too when I see those multi million dollar boats. :)
I always wonder what they do for a living. Fund managers?

All good, not a scratch. Savannah overall got very lucky. I think only Ft. McAllister reported any significant damage (and it is a very vulnerable marina)
