Nice job! Those dock positions looked very tight for a 32.

So shifting straight from forward to reverse like that is not damaging? I always go to neutral for a second, then reverse/forward for fear of breaking something.

It's fun to see mooring practices from around the world. Now I'm going to have to figure out exactly where that canal is.
I, personally, would have edited the stern line error at about 2.30 on the clip where you move slips. Just the body language of the gentleman is funny.
Keep sharing your videos. It's not only helpful to newer boaters and entertaining to older, it makes me want to check out canal cruising there more. My brother and his wife did it several years ago and are wanting to do it again.

I'm fortunate that my boat is very heavy (47K) and moves slow and deliberately, but I never touch the rudder once I enter port unless I absolutely need to.

I don't have thrusters, but Even then I re-center after use and use the props. Most boats will turn on their length if the owner is knowledgeable and confident. Good videos though. Thanks

I like to make the additions myself, but often people want to help, usually not very well. They do not do what I'm thinking. :P

The gentiman in the clip spraka german and i spraka swedich :S

Peopple in sailboats is ofen akt to slow.

As long as I stand at the controls, I feel safe. When I leave the controls, you have to act quickly if it's blowing. If it does not work according to schedule, I'll go back to the controls and start over.

I do not feel that I'm moving back and forth too fast. There are no bangs or feelings of jerkiness.
In the above movies it blows about 8m/sec, (15knots) since there is no time to wait between the switches.

I use the machines to rotate the boat, the bowthruster I use with the engines when I want the boat to move completely sideways
My boat dont rotate so good whid out ritning the roders.
When its no wind its easy, this is no wind and no bowthruster.

When I read your comment about you speaking German and you speaking Swedish my first reaction was to want to give our Canadian friends a tease and say we have the same language problem. Well, maybe in Quebec, but it's good natured fun.
A skipper takes whatever help he/she can get. Have you considered a cockpit station? I'm much less mobile than you and find that getting from the upper Helm to my lines when single handing can be stressful.

It's not so often that blows so much, in the case of weaker winds it will not be stressful.

This video is a lunch stop i a Island.
At the end of the movie, I need both hands, so I can not shoot when I jump land and tie the boat in the trees.

Why, if you are only doing a lunch stop are you tieing off to the tree? Why not just your bow anchor farther off shore and let the boat swing on it?
Beautiful background.

(Paste in the code in googlemaps.)
In the end of the canoe stadium, it can be windy But no waves.

Those gears can take it. If your RPM's are too high or moves too sudden the transmission will push back at you. Meaning it won't let you do it. I center my steering and use the Hurth's 100% for tight quarters. I am amazed by that video. Not my approach, I don't have the touch with just rudders. To each his own and that is some impressive Captaining.

I wish I had a bow thruster, but can't justify it on this old boat. When I get my Meridian.

Thanks for all the comments, I appreciate reading all the comments!
All of you who have 3288, do you drive with rudder centers?
My move too slowly if I have centered rudder, I have to twist the rudder to make the boat move, especially when it's blowing.

Many comments regarding my gear management. I'm not the least worried about myself. I have owned this boat for 10 years now, without the transmission being broken.
I have separate gear and trottel. The gearbox between front and back is not as close to the center as on boats with combined gear and trottel.

The neutral position is quite far on my controls, and I make all changes on idle turn.:)
