I had a quote for $2500 from a local shop to produce new salons cushions. I found a website, cushionsource.com, that made them for about $900, including a couple throw pillows. They arrived today and are very well made and fit perfectly. Arrived less than 2 weeks after placing the order.

They dont have the snaps like the originals to hold them in place, but if I dont like that, I will use a bit of stick on velcro.

We went with white vinyl because we have 3 munchkins that we were afraid would stain fabric. The one downside of this site is there are not a lot of vinyl options. There are many fabric options, including a lot of sunbrella.

Here is the packing list in - it has all the dimensions for a 32 salon. I got the measurements by measuring the old cushions. There are 7 total cushions and we added the 2 throw pillows.

Wow. Very nice and reasonable price.
Luckily, my wife can sew and she recovered ours last season, but it was a lot of work.

Wow- looks nice. The Admiral was just up to our 3218 today eyeballing the blue cushions. She'd like to go with a light brown fabric. Did they happen to quote you for fabric material? I might also be changing the formica table top and kitchen counter. ...oh so much to do.

I dont think the price changed much by going with sunbrella.

Diveguy - neither of us can sew; wish we could, would have done same as you.

I am very happy with what we got and the price was very reasonable.

I like the white. Makes me wish I'd choosen a different color :(

FWIW, we looked at a boat that used sunbrella. Found it to be very rough for a seating material although durable I'm sure.

I've got a question on your cushion order... In the pictures and description you clearly have 7 cushions... however on the packing slip I see a total of only 6 cushions... Am I missing something here?? I just picked up a 3288 that has a disgusting interior and I think I will follow your lead and copy your order... Thanks! Brad

That is a decent price. I had mine redone a couple of years ago. I went with the microfiber that looks like leather, new foam, plus new curtains on the windows. If I remember right cushions, foam the backing board for the long side by the windows the extra cushion for pull out, snaps and curtains was just shy of three boat bucks.

Sunbrella is not made for upholstery use. It chafes too easily and wears too quickly for anything but water repellant tarps. Any upholstery shop can re-cover the cushions. Best to split the long one into two so it doesn't sag.

Yikes, that's unfortunate, as all the outside seating on our boat, as well as the new patio set we got for home has Sunbrella fabric

Hi Mike, I'm sure your o/k as Sunbrella does make "upholstery" material as well.

Brad - the last item on the list is a "cushion set" - it is actually 2 cushions each 31"

I also purchased new cushions for the v-berth and lower berth. I bought all those from foamorder.com. The prices were reasonable and the service was good.

For the lower berth i bought a 6-inch memory foam mattress from their overstock and had them cut it down to 77"x76". Was a couple hundred bucks, fit perfect, and very comfortable.

I would definitely check out foamorder.com.

Sorry for my misinformation. After Mike's comment I looked at www.sunbrella.com/ and learned they have a number of products besides marine canvass including upholstery, drapery and more.

Dpeery,
Thanks for the info, I think I'll go this route as well. Did the $900 cushion source order include new foam or did you reuse the existing? How much was the mattress, what was it made from and have you slept on it yet? Did you get cushion source to make the covers for the v-berth as well?
Thanks
Eric

Cushion source made the salon, and yes everything was new.

Foamorder.com made the v-berth foam and covers, all new. I just took the old covers off and mailed them to them. They used them for a template.

The mattress was about $300 from foamorder.com. I found it in the clearance section as an eastern king 6" memory foam. I had them cut it down to 76x77". It fit perfect. They warned me the mattress case would be loose and i could have a custome case made, but i just told them to ship it and i wasnt worried about it being a bit loose. It was cheap, is extremely comfortable, and the wrinkles on the case arent a big deal, can see them once sheets are on anyway.

dpeery,
Did you not do the extra cushion for the pull out?
Thanks
Glen
