I got the old Whirlpool microwave outta' my 38 yesterday. Man...what a battle that was. Made the fridge job seem like a breeze.

Anyways, the bracket that came with my new Magic Chef is a quite a bit different than the mounting system that Bayliner used for the old one.

As there are no upper cabinets to bolt the top of the microwave to so it doesn't fall forward, how have you guys installed these securely? I 've seen lots of pictures of the Magic Chefs installed in these 38's so any tips would be helpful.

"L" brackets from Home Depot and cut off the upper portion. With the new mounting with a back panel the "L" bracket custom made if needed is the way to go.

Hi Nelie,

Can you give me a bit more detail.

Where do you attach the "L" bracket? To the rear and top of the microwave? If so, how did you access the top of the microwave?

Did you also use the bracket that came with the microwave?
