I am looking to get mini blinds to replace the curtains for my 1994 3888 Bayliner. After checking with one company it appears the head rail is too wide to fit behind the wood trim above windows. Any suggestions?

Hunter-Douglas shades come in 3/8", 3/4" and 1 1/4" wide pleats. The head rail is only slightly larger for each.

I bought 1/2" alum Micro blinds from Just Blinds at (800) 959-9939, www.justblinds.com and the fit was perfect in my 1992 3888.

I ordered 6 units. 2 for the port and 2 for the starboard, and 2 for the aft windows (not including the opening for the door). I did not order blinds for the front windshield because I use the canvas cover that came with the boat and I was concerned with the fit and potential sagging because of the angle. I did not do the galley or mid cabin windows. The company will send you hardware for securing the bottom of the blinds at no charge. Here are the dimensions I used for my boat.

1. 1/2" Aluminum, 24" Width, 30-3/4" Height, Alabaster Color (Rear Starboard Aft)
2. 1/2" Aluminum, 56-1/2" Width, 30-3/4" Height, Alabaster Color (Rear Port Aft)
3. 1/2" Aluminum, 49" Width, 26" Height, Alabaster Color (Forward Port)
4. 1/2" Aluminum, 49" Width, 26" Height, Alabaster Color (Forward Starboard)
5. 1/2" Aluminum, 63-1/2" Width, 30" Height, Alabaster Color (Rear Starboard)
6. 1/2" Aluminum, 63-1/2" Width, 29" Height, Alabaster Color (Rear Port)

NOTE: Wand style Tilter Control, Left side Tilter Location, Right side Lift Cord Location, Outside Mount Location, included are Spacers and Hold-Down Brackets for Outside Mount.

Total cost on Oct. 2005 was $295.00, and no charge for shipping cost.

We have Hunter Douglas blinds on our 1987 3870 and they fit perfectly behind the wood frame. They are the duet type and work great.

The Admiral and ay put the Levlor honey comb. I had to add 1/2" spacer on the stern side of the cabin to allow enough room for the brackets. The rest fell into place. White on the outside and lite brown on the inside.
