Hi everone. Its time to find a decent boat cover for my wellcraft Antigua. Right now I am using a tarp that works but I want one that fits better for towing and looks better. New on Walmart for a 29 ft boat cover is about $350. I found a decent grey 24 ft X 11 ft pontoon boat cover for $80. But I don't know how to fit it appropriately for the Antigua. I removed the bimini and the hull has been painted white. Does anyone have any ideas how to fit it? My concerns are the chrome railing over the top. I have used iron on patches for tears in canvas covers so I wonder if I could cut it to fit over the chrome and just wrap and iron on the edges of the cuts to fit it. Ideally it should be a cover for a 29 to 30 ft boat. Does any one know of one that I could buy that wont break the bank?

If the cover that fits, the $350 one is too expensive, then your are back to the tarp i fell. Too do it "right" is going to cost $ can't say for sure how much, but easily $1000+ (If you can find and actual cover for under $500 for that boat, please remark back here as many, many will want that info...)

So after much deliberation I ended up going with a brand new boat cover from the factory that sells them. That saved me some cash. Over all it wasn't as bad as I thought. I went with Vortex Direct. I bought a water proof heavy duty 600 denier canvas boat cover for a 34 ft long 8ft 6 in wide pontoon boat. The result was better than I figured. Total size is 40 ft 6 in long and 14 ft 2 in wide with sewn in elastic rope to the edges. It was $210. Overall I am happy with it. I added quite a bit of water proofing just to make sure. I also discovered that pool noodles cut long ways worked really well for covering railing, edges and the top of the windshield to prevent damaging the new cover.

If you are planning on towing at highway speeds with that spinnaker covering your boat then you should be prepared for some.....drama........

Well once again the format of these cell phone photos are not supported. I'll attach them as soon as I figure it out.

And no I don't plan on towing with the cover on. That could be hazardous to a couple peoples health.

Interested to see how it covers your boat. I've been using my camper enclosure with a generic 20' boat cover over the top of that to keep things covered for winter storage. Looking for another option as the generic cover is showing its age.

Ok I got the photos to transfer correctly. I learned that the files were over 9.3 MB. Anyway, first photo is on a dry cloudy day. The second is about an hour ago in the rain. I was in the boat at about 1:30 to work on the bathroom remodel and it is nice and dry. The main deck did have several drops going through where I have 1" PVC pipe for midway support for the entire length.

Looks pretty good but I think if you are going to tow at highway speeds with that cover on, you need more straps over the cover to keep it from becoming a big parachute hanging off the top of the boat.
