Last year, we spent over $61k, buying the boat, installing electric and a lift at our pier, and outfitting the boat with necessary gear... So, I am very happy so far with this year's total:

$765

5 Gal fuel can - $30
8" Locking pliers (for tool box) - $8
Fortress aluminum anchor - $100
Deep Cell battery - $100
BoatUS Membership and Towing - $170
Progressive Insurance - $357

Future likely costs this year -
GPS/Chartplottor - est $1500

That is certainly one way to look at it. Next week I am going to order a new dock box for my new home. The old ones latch is broken and it could not be locked so that's a great reason to get a new one.

I don't even want to imagine the amount I've spent, to this date or any other... I do know I could buy a new car each year for what I generally spend on moorage, insurance, license, fuel etc... and on years I have serious maintenance, I could probably buy a tiny house.... ugh!

Paid $7200 for my 2655 and it still isn't in the water. I've been adding to a parts log and saving most receipts but am about scared to look... I'd be willing to bet it's again what I bought her for at a minimum! And except for a very few things I'm providing my own labor
Lots of upgrades to catch the technology up Rework of original systems/ assy's. Replace things missing from original config. Power tools to take on some projects. Lots of back-up and redundancy and more "than I'll probably needs". I'm only going to do this once though and figure while I'm working go ahead to take her a step or 6 above production line standards. That way when I've had my fill of work and I'm hopefully somewhere south of here headed towards clearer water and Keys, I won't going "I sure wish I'd have done this or that when I had the funds" And when those Not if but when issues arise, I'll know her like the back of my hand. This is my 60's something muscle car project I never had. Plus this one'll double as my floating retirement villa...... If it doesn't kill me first!

Update: We haven't used the boat as much this year due to a family health issue; we are down to about half of last year's hours afloat. But counting operations (fuel, repairs, etc) and the gear odds and ends that add up, we are at $2432 for the year so far.

I really dont want to know!lol! Bought my 2859 a year ago approx and it hasnt seen water yet. New transom, stringers, fuel tank and a rebuilt 496........not a stock rebuild either. Lots of aluminum for weight savings. Thats only a few things i have done. Paid 34000 can. Will have at least another 25000 in it before the water touches the hull. List is soooooo long i cant remember everything i have done. Wife is going to start the interior overhaul this week!!!

Sometimes its best to not know and you will have more fun boating!!!
