From what I read, and from asking questions around the docks, my 2001 2455 (5.0 litre) can handle pulling the kids around on tube, skiing etc.

What I need to know:
- Can I install towing mounts on the transom safely?
- Does anyone out there do this regularly? HOw do they set up the bridle?
- If anyone has modified their boat for hooking up a bridle, can they post pictures for me?
- Anybody out there ever fabricated a tow post and inserted it into the aft table post hole?
Any other information or asistance will be greatly appreciated.

I just added a tow ring to my new to me 1988 2455. It was the first time that I drilled through the fiberglass. It sure was a sinking feeling at first!!
Looks great, and I will try it out next season on Lake St. Clair.

We tube quite a bit and kids like the deep valley of water to run through. We use something like this: http://www.marineengine.com/products/accessory.php?in=2336009

Don't think it would support it. Maybe.

You should have two round tye downs on the back of your boat just hook the bridle there it will work good and if not hook it to your clets on the back.

Don't try to pull anything with your table mount that is if you want to keep it.

The kids will love the wake that boat will make and have a blast.

Ps,just a word of advise make sure everything is secure down below in the cabin that keeps the Admiral happy:cool
Thats how I got in to a cabin cruiser and a ski boat all at the same time
That just broke my heart.n o t

I have used the two hooks on my transom to tow a friend. My line was not set up properly, so it wasn't the perfect set up, and boating on a narrow river doesn't allow for room to swing around and throw the tuber over the wake, but he had a good time.

We have a 245 cruiser and installed a tow ring in the middle of the transom. It is backed with a 2 x 10 that is about 12 inches long. We pull a double tube with the 5.0 carbbed motor and have no difficulties at all for the two daughters and their friends. Have at it and have fun.

I've pulled tubers behind my 2550. Not the optimum boat for it, but it works. DO NOT try to secure a tube to the table mount. No way it would stand up to the pressure of pulling a tube. I used my transom tie down points with one of those bridle deals that have the pulley in between. I didn't care for that set-up. You want the rope to attach as high up as possible. Tubes take a lot of force to pull, and when the rope is close to the water level, the tube is pretty flat and harder to pull. With a higher attachment point, you keep the rope out of the water and the leading edge of the tube is prevented from diving.

I bought mine with the tow ring. They installed it lower than the transom step. They drilled it into the engine room and put a backing plate on it. My kids enjoyed may hours of fun on the lake.

We have a 265 with cleats on either side of the stern (obviously for tying up to a slip). I use a harness much like this one.

It's worked great for us, and I didn't have to drill any holes in the boat.

Can I just have a rope like a Y and attach each and to one of the cleats on the back on my 2455 Ciera? I do not really want to drill anything...
