Boy oh boy, good luck with that. I just went through the same trama and there are no easy answers and no good used trailers either. I searched the entire country for two weeks (it almost killed my deal on a 3055).

I finally broke down and bought a new MetalCraft (which sure hurt my walet) but I ended up with a fantastic, well built, smooth pulling trailer.

One thing I learned in my search was to stay away from aluminum trailers at that size, apparently to much flex over the road.

I sincerely hope you have better luck than I did ! Cheers - Scotty

Kenny, How soon do you need one ??.Within a few days or weeks ??. :)

That's just pure bullsh*t talk 90% of all tractor trailer trailers are built out of aluminum today with NO flex. :).
Its no differences in a boat trailer that I know of . I've haul everything in my 33yrs of trucking crap from boats to heavy equipment at 109.000 gross pounds with no problems. :arr

Kenny.............

Look and look and look..........it took me a year and a half to find a used triple axle trailer for our maxum 3000 scr. I found it in offshore.com. Just google used trailers and that should help you.

Again use ebay, craigslist,offshore.com. or whatever you can find,

Then once you find your trailer be ready to get the torch out so that everything fits. I found a 18,000 lbs shorelander. All the bunks had to be taken off and redone. The triple axle assembly had to be moved up and the winch went back four feet to sit right on the bow of the boat. In the end I had a very nice triple axle trailer for about $4500.00. :)

They are out there you just have to act quickly when you find one.:)

Kenny, that style that Joe linked to may work fairly well.
Electric over hydraulic brakes would be the Cat's Meow.

The one thing that I'd caution anyone about, would be torsion axles in a triple axle scenario!
Without the typical leaf spring walking beams (rocker arms) these do not "load share" very well.
People have had issues with this.
They work well if kept extremely level and if we do not get into off camber situations, etc.
Leaf is the way to go for double and triple axle trailers, IMO.

I don,t know how much hauling you are going to do,but the last thing you want to screw around with when heading out for a trip is a trailor problemn,I know it sucks to cut into the boat budget with the trlr but can save some money on storeage and mooreage if you can keep it at home.handy for working on boat too.I bought my trlr at tuff trlr.com out of Linden, wash.they build a nice product, just make sure you negotiate the spare.

Good point, and I'll add to that a spare hub, seals and bearings and some wheel bearing grease!
Murphy's law will dictate that if you have these..... you'll not need them! :D

I have an aluminum trailer and have had not flex issues with my 3055. It has gone on 2 long trips (150 miles and 500 miles) with our issue.

Thanks phil for the info i see you have a venture trailer. if i have to buy a new trailer i think that is who i will be going with.

I looked at transport costs and it seems to double without my own trailer. thats 75% of the cost of the trailer. the boat i am looking at is in New Jersey and venture is in Baltimore so i think that will work.
