if you get a boat with a small motor you'll always wish you got the bigger one.

Definitely keep looking. There is an '01 195 Sport V6 in my neck of the woods for $8K and I'm sure they'd take less. Same condition -- virtually spotless and garage kept. You don't need to pay up for a 20 year old boat in any condition. It's a boat. It's SUPPOSED to be in good condition. If it's not, then you deduct heavily, but just because it is in good shape doesn't mean you pay a premium.

Thank you to all for the input on this. I didn't buy the boat. I'm on the hunt again for a good deal. Hopefully, it will be a Bayliner, as i've not seen a forum like this anywhere else on the net.

Does anyone have any pro/con experiences from buying a boat via the internet?

Just another advertising source....it's not the how being sold it's the what's being sold:) I found mine on the internet 10 years ago.....

Now if your talking about buying sight unseen - 99 percent of the time you will be sorry. Pics are nice, but nothing like an in person inspection by someone who knows what to look for.
