Boat could be a buy, but I'd look for a different trailer.

The drive alone is worth that. There could be 120 gallons of gas in there too for your Sea Ray. A good test would be to drop a lit cigarette into the fuel fill. If you do so, pictures of your demise are worth a thousand words. :)

You might have more luck if it was in the boats for sale section.

Your first post might have confused him. It looks like you are the one selling it (rather than what it really is: quoting the ad from the seller).

Could be a screaming deal. Or maybe just a place to sink all those snowplowing bucks.:o

Hi Wayne,
Judging from the side window shape, and apparent lack of front windows, that looks more like an '83 Contessa. just fyi

I'd second an early to mid '80's. '88 would have been an OMC. In decent shape worth $5-6 Grand.

A local boater here on my waters bought a late 80's 3255 Avanti for $7500 and Ebayed his Contessa for $6500. Hard to beat an Avanti upgrade for
$1000. Can't wait to board that thing.

Good luck.

Not to mention the lack of transom drop down cutout for boarding aft.

...like someone said, easily worth the drive alone.

Hmmmmm..... I have an idiom for that, Wayne! :kidding

Like Mike said, the drive alone is worth what he is asking.
There is a cost to dumping a hull though. Fuel tank must be removed, etc. Never know..... you might be able to make a few bucks on the deal.
It may also be in salvageble condition, Wayne!
You could even do the Volvo to OMC conversion! :kidding

I'll save him the trouble. Its a 1983/1984. 1988s have OMC Cobras and look like this (1989 model pictured):

The top deck is raised and has front windows near the hatch, and the entire interior is totally different.

The drive itself is worth a grand, so regardless of the rest of the boat, its a good deal.

It has a 350 which was rebuilt and and stored for 5 years, no longer runs. It was winterized so the block is fine. It also has the duoprop outdrive. The interior is ready for restoration, as it has been stripped. I bought it with the intention of restoring it however I recently purchased a snowmobile which eats any spare time I have. The trailer can be included for an extra $1000. The trailer alone is worth a good amount. Best offer takes it or I would trade for the right RV or enclosed snowmobile trailer. I could deliver around the area.

WAit a tic...

Wayne, aren't you sitting on a pair of 350s for your Sea Ray?

Surely you could liberate one of them for this boat?

So you buy this for a grand, drop one of your 350s into it, sell for 6 - 7 grand, and go on a very nice vacation.
