Just off of the Victoria Airport near Deep Cove.
Two Traps, Two hours, 220 Prawns.
Seems like my lucky number is 2. 2 More Traps and we would have limited out.
We usually set eight traps but we were just out on a trial run with my sons new Depth Fish finder before going to Port Alberni for Sockeye next weekend. If the ratio held we would have bagged a bit more than 800 bugs.....Hope my numbers holds up for China Creek.

Nice haul... I hate our 80 shrimp limit here and the two or three days we can shrimp... really is no fun...

It's nice to fish on your own schedule. Sometimes we have pulse fishing where it is closed for two weeks per month. We are allowed to fish four traps per licence in the boat and keep 200 prawns per licence each day. Makes for a nice dinner... :woohoo:

That's why I sold my shrimp pots this weekend.
Lame.
WDFW really needs to look north and see what a lucrative business fishing/crabbing/shrimping is, or can be, for manufacturers. Their over regulation just makes it a PITA and not fun.

I didn't even buy a WA fishing license this year. Just Canadian.
Plus the last two years I did my catch report online they charged me for not doing it.
Must be the same people that set up the Obamanationcare site.

Haven't put the prawn pots down yet, maybe next week if I can get back up there and find my boat and wife.
I had to go do a job in Brazil right in the middle of the sockeye run.

Awesome! Not a lot of opportunity for me to get seafood where I'm sitting. In the motorhome in Devon Alberta. Have fun and good luck. I hear the weather is going to be super this week. P.S leave a couple for the locals or is that have a couple with the locals. :P .............Mike
