How hot? Played 11 Springs (Kings) in 4 hours. 2014 is supposed to be an epic year for salmon returns. If this is the beginning, we are in for one fantastic salmon season. Sockeye returns predicted up to 70 million returning to the Fraser River. If last year's Pink Salmon return of 23 million, I can't imagine what we are in store for. We had a very difficult time getting down past the pinks to the springs (bad problem to have with guests on board). :)

It is on the southern tip of Gabriola Island out in the Strait of Georgia, not far from Nanaimo.

I leave from the Vancouver side. 17 mile crossing. Lately the fish have been up against Grande (north of Silva Bay/Thrasher Rock) along the wall and down deep as 200'. But then that can change with a new weather system.
