The bite is on at China Creek(Port Alberni Canal). We all came home with our limit of eight fish. The weather was awesome except for a bit of rough water due to wind on one of the three days. Fished anyway.....:D

How big are those sockeyes? I thought the limit was 2/day? or did you have 4 licenses on board?

John.
Mostly all over the map we switched up a lot.
We had four lines out downriggers with dummy flashers on the balls and lines at 10 ft and 25 ft up. We set one side at 70 ft and the other at 80 ft. On one set we used prism with red edge flashers and on the other we used prism with green edges. My son used coyote spoons and I used pink hoochies and pink and black hoochies. They all did pretty well. We lost a lot with the barbless hooks and the sockeyes soft mouth. :sorrow: Most of ours were in the 20 to 24 inch range there were a lot smaller but we let them get away which isn't that hard. It seemed like we were playing catch and release. Some of the guys were catching them on black hooks with no lures at all.
Doug.
They upped the limit from two to four with eight allowed in your possion.. ;)

We were told we were going faster then most. Apparently we were being watched because of our action. We were trying to keep our downrigger lines at about 30 to 45 degrees. We were also lucky there were no cops. We do a lot of turning to slow and speed up our lines. Probably looked like we had been drinking. :rofl3 It seemed like most catches were made in a turn one way or the other..... Mike

I hear Campbell River is hot right now.
So little time so many fish.
Something to drool over...
