The TV/DVD combo came from Walmart, it was on sale which is what promted me to do it. I had to cut the existing hole larger, then make a box to insert in the hole that securely held the TV. I made some steel arms to go under the lower edge of the TV to help keep it stable in rough water.....I hope it holds...so far ..so good.
As for sealing , that's back a few post's, rub rail and silicone.

Steve,

Just bought the same boat today and your renovation had inspired us to take a similar path. Great job! I may have questions for you as we progress on our reno if you don't mind.

Thanks,
BandL

Did you put scews in the new windows to help keep them tight??
I redid ours once using the original Bayliner shape and put screws in the corners to help keep them tight and yep.. they cracked. I'm not sure if it's vibration or expansion and contaction from tempature ..but the end result was the same.....back to the drawingboard. This time I made the windows look like one long single piece but made in three pieces with a small expansion joint between the sections. The window is attached with only the bodymoulding tape and silicone. The rubrail goes over the window edge and reinforces the tape and silicone..but.. the rubrail screws do not go thru the window, they are beside the window edge , no holes in the window and hpoefully no cracks, and hopefully they stay tight and don't leak. I did them back in May and so far ..so good, winter will be the test.
I have not been able to find that T mould either...wish I could. Seems to shrink and warp over time. I have pulled sections down and reworked them with the help of a blow dryer and a heat gun to get the corners tight andthem added little pieces (leftover from the TV install) to extend the length.

For the t molding you can get it in either black or tan from this ebay seller: boaterblueboating They will ship to Canada if you ask. You might also try RV service places. We'll be redoing our 2955 this winter and if I find any local (Ontario) I'll let you know.

Thanks for the tip on the storage under the helm seating. Did you do anything with the deep pocket to the left of the storage opening. I am thinking about closing off the area to keep things from falling down into this area. I have removed the seats to recover them.

I left it deep for tall items and on the right side I store the removable seat from our dingy.

Do you have a part number and manufacturer for the rub rail that you used. I would like to know what the profile was of the rail. I am assuming that the screws went in the center of the rub rail and the insert covered the screws. Both of my original windows have cracks in them and they leak.

I can tell you Steve has turned a good looking boat into a suburb looking boat.
And they did make it to Killarney last summer after all. Hope we do it again next summer.

Larryjean: I don't have a part number, it was the smallest solid black vinyl rail I could find.
Doug: We've booked three weeks for Killarney this year.....we're comin'

I purchased a Avanti 29 foot last fall. It needs a little love. I really like what you did to your boat.
