Hated the V birth bed design and the matress wasn't thick enough. Where you walked into the area the bed was notched out weird so your knees hung over the edge. I made a counter balanced shelf that can be removed for more access room and makes it easy for two old fat people to sleep in. Still need to stain and seal the shelve and will making a two piece matress as well 6 inches thick. The shelf is 1/2 inch with a 1 x 1 screwed to the plywood on the right angle.
