Anyone who's tried to get at the macerator, or holding tank vent, on a 1990 2655, will know that you need to be a bit of a contortionist to reach them, and ideally a slim one, which I'm not. So, rather than diet and excercise, I figured that power tools, and cutting holes in my boat, would be a quicker and easier option.

Nice job. I hope you reinforced the lip of the step though.

Thanks.

Actually no, I didn't reinforce the lip of the step, as it doesn't get used as a step in any case. I made a padded seat which fits over that area, which has a leg in front, and so acts as an alternative to spread any weight: The rear of the seat is held down with velcro and so can be lifted off whenever I need to access the hatch.
