I decided to tackle resurfacing the worn out B III after the marina quoted me about $350 for them to do it. I used nothing but 3 Moeller spray cans worth $38 on amazon. (and a 5" variable sander/paper i already had on hand)

Used a combination of a 5" variable speed sander, good old fashioned sand paper, and a sanding brush for the hard to hit spots. (60 and 80 grit)
1 can 2 coats green zinc chromate primer
1 can 3 coats mercury black
1 can 3 coats high gloss marine grade clear coat

Only time will tell how far that $38 will go in the salt but considering she is dry stored I hope I get several seasons out of it.

As for the Moeller brand rattle can products, as of right now without seeing it after its been in the water on and off, I would highly recommend them because the application was nice and smooth, no runs, no sputtering from the cans, etc etc.

Looks great. The Moeler marine paints work great and hold up well.

I sprayed mine last year with the same paint, clear coat and primer, looked great until I put it in the water. The paint looked like it washed right off. The primer did hold great. Hope you have better luck with yours
