Wow, so glad I found this. Looks like I get to replace my tank before I can go boating again. Of course I learned this only after flying my Dad in for a two week fishing trip :( I was wondering, how do you know where exactly the deck should be cut? Do you have any additional words of wisdom that might help??

Few posts down " gas tank leaking " in completed projects.

Measurement, directions, everything needed for a 2452 gas tank replacement.

No where as near the amount needed to cut the deck.... Check it out.

Locked or not, Chief, how's the boating been? I know you had to troubleshoot many things to get out on the water with your new to you boat. Are you "good to go" now? Wish I was, wont have any boat fixed time for a while :(

Dude why the F would you come on a thread where someone did good, clean, safe work and refer people to your abortion? ???? This project Pretty much Covers It all From Start To finish WITH Detailed Pix Throughout. This will be my last post on this topic out of respect to o.p. so it doesn't get de railed

Well done Jan!

THAT is the way you should change a fuel tank. No corners cut and no controversy. Ya know what would be helpful would be a list of where you sourced your materials (tank, hoses, prices, lead times, etc). These can be done pretty simply if you know what you're doing and you've done a clean, safe install there. Good on ya.

Thanks Mike!!! Well, I am not going to post more on this "How To". I've posted pictures because the old "gas tank replacement on 2452" did not make it from old web page.
Don't know why is Chief making comments about it, nor I really care. Who is unfortunate enough to go trough the pain of changing gas tank, those pics will show
him/her what to expect. If there is better gas tank replacement project documentation somewhere here at BOC, I am glad.
BTW, the project and gas tank was done by:

Dinos Auto Truck Repairs

North, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
dinosautotruckrepairs.com/index.html

Phone: 604-983-3466

I wanted tank from the same company who built the original tank “Coastline Equipment, Inc”, they’ve quoted me for $1,000.00
but guys from “Dinos Auto Truck Repairs” wanted to manufactured the tanks as well, so...

Coastline equipment contact is:
Kevin Eschliman ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)

The price for tank and job was very reasonable $3,000.00
Little hint: Cover and seal everything you can, even inside the cabin,
as that white fibreglass dust will find its way everywhere

Just another case of someone trying to start an argument. ..not you Chief. There was no need for the couple of smart a**e comments re Chiefs comment. It doesn't matter whether you think Chief used a new tank or he repaired the old one. He did show very nicely how to do the job. I always take someone at their word. If he said it was new, it was new.

Jan, was that a generic PDF from coastline or one made for your boat?. I only ask because the date on it is 2007.
