I've been hanging around this forum for quite sometime and never really got involved with it till just recently, posting questions and even trying to help answer where I can... The replies to my posts have been so nice and informative as well! Thanks everyone!
I came across a post the other day about someone had made their 242 "Our 242" and loved it so much that I figured I'd share some of what I've done to my 1995 2452HT. Being an older boat it is like a blank painters canvas! (finger painting101 that is! haha!) So here's the short of it and some pics too!

http://good-times.webshots.com/album/558839861soXFjy
(might have to copy and paste)

1) added new swim platform (swimstep was damaged from a tornado) Brought a used one from a boat junk yard of an old searay and made my own brackets
2) added all new electronics
3) New speakers in the stairs on the aft deck
4) New dual battery charger
5) Repainted all cabin trim
6) Replaced old Dry icebox with custom shelves w/wine rack
7) Added cooler to swim platform
8) battery charge level monitor
9) New cockpit window defogger
10) Cockpit heater/fan
11) custom rope lighting in cabin w/controller (feels like a theater when watching movies at night) hence "private pleasure":) With the lighting and new flooring the comments I've received have been everything from: all I need now is a dancing pole, to where's the popcorn! haha!:)
12) laminate flooring in cabin
13) New name!!!! haha!
14) New CD player in Cabin
15) 15" HD TV w/DVD player mounted to head door on a swivel mount so can be viewed from both inside and outside of the cabin
16) outside Rod Holders
17) New grill
18) Overhead rear of boat lighting for fishing or lighting up the back of the boat at night
19) TV antenna mounted on top of the hard top
20) Portable spot light
21) Just mounted a EU2000 on foredeck

Know I don't have pics for everything I've listed but will add them after this weekend. I've truly made this one "mine" and am enjoying it to no end!:) You guys (and gals) have been great and thanks to a forum like this I have a place to turn when all else fails or actually turns out right!!:)

Wow, you've been busy!! I think it's fair to say that you now have a very personalized boat.

That is some real nice work. How did you fasten the floor moldings?

They are screwed to the actual laminate flooring which is set on top of the old carpet for padding, nothing is screwed through the bottom floor of the boat. It was just a nice tight fit so I didn't have to secure it other than lay it down:)

Great Job!!
Make sure you do a re-naming ceremony, if you did a name change. You don't want to p!$$ off Poseidon!
I had a friend who did not do the ritual and had nothing but bad luck until he did it. Only thing left for him to do is have a virgin pee on the bow. (It's part of the ritual he chose. What can I say)!!!

Believe me, it was the first thing we did after getting the name on! ha! I've heard about to many stories from people that didn't! Never really could figure out if that applied to boats on lakes since everyone I read were about the sea but didn't want to take any chances! haha Just changed it where it said sea to lake! haha:)

Any comments on new curtains? I have the same boat, but I am in need of curtains. Do I need to have them made , or can I purchase them?

My curtains are still in great shape although I am planning to have all the interior redone in the fall. I would think that if you can't order them through bayliner you would need to go through a local shop just as I am going to do. My next project this coming weekend is going to be to install outdoor carpeting in the helm area that will snap to the flooring. Will post pics as soon as I'm done with it so you can check it out.
