Just ran the today after working on it all winter. All systems go. Timing is just right, thanks rick for the tip to mark the damper at 30 degs works good, I didn't have to use my advance timing light. Here's a picture of my lash up, next thing is to clean up the engine compartment and install it.

Kevin, I keep in front of the hangar door plowed all winter, but you got to remember we live right between Palmer and Wasilla, the wind capital of the world so all the snow was blown away along time ago. I think the horsepower is around 270 give or take a little. Man it sounds like a drag racer with just open pipes, in the picture the engine is running, I ran it for an hour or so to monitor the temps., oil pressure and to check for oil leaks. It sounds so good I think I'll run it again tomorrow.

Don't let him kid you Kevin.
He took a bucket of that Florida sunshine back with him.
Looks great Larry.
Uh, that stringer could use a little work. :prod

Larry, Very cool. What did you get for TA when base was good? Just curious!

Isn't it neat how a finely tuned engine will run and yet sit still on a set up like that? I've started them while sitting on just blocks of wood before!
You'll like that little HTGR starter motor too. Very efficient little buggers. Two Flash Light batteries will practically start it up!

Rick,
My base ( I think thats what you talking about) is 8 deg BTDC and it top out at 30 deg BTDC, I like that starter so far, you are right it seems to take nothing to crank it. The battery in the picture is a 35 amp aircraft battery and it cranks it good.
