I let water in my engine while it was out of the boat for hull rebuild. It locked up from the rust. I made fast and fun use of SAWZALL today removeing the replacement engine from boat. Sure hope it isn't junk.

Looks like both boat and engine are toast!

Wait, is the second pic of the cylinders the engine block you cut out of that boat in the first picture? Or is that your old block rusted out?

Ive free'd up worse! Use wood blocks lots of w-d and heat. The pistons will be junk ( maybe ) but you can salvage the block.

Sorry guys, That post was hard to sort out. The first picture is of a engine/drive combo I found at a marine salvage. I cut out the back of transom and took picture just after placed on trailer. The second picture is my rusted up motor out of 2670 Explorer. I tore down the salvage motor lastnight. It is in good shape. Plan on honeing cyl. and new rings. Then into the Explorer.

Classic! , I figured out the pics were new engine / old engine, but I definitely got a case of the roundeye seeing the method to "pull the engine"- don't think I've ever seen anybody saw around the transom shield before!
