After alot of frustration with paint strippers I ended up with this. That ugly red paint leached into the gel-coat. I had my work cut out for me.....

I started out with 800 grit wet/dry and kept working my way backward until I found the grit that would get through the leached red paint. I ended up going back to 220. After much sanding I ended up with this. It turned out better than I'd anticipated, that paint had really done a number on the gel-coat. It's 1000 times better than it was and could probably use another compounding but I think I'm done for now, I have other projects that need doing.

Not so dated and an excellent job... :arr You are looking at many years of boat envy from friends and other boaters checking your boat out...
