What is the function of the transom shower? Is the installation complicated?

Thanks, Larry

Larry:

When I changed my drive oil last fall I noticed it was a little darker than new oil (probably running a little hot). Also experienced a little pressure increase in the reservoir (tough to unscrew the cap) and would notice a little bit of white residue on top of the drive itself probably from the boiling of the water when the drive would come in water contact after coming off plane. With the drive shower I'm hoping that the water spray will keep the drive a little cooler when on plane. I'm not a 100% believer in it yet, but I'll let you know if there is any difference when I change the oil out in the fall again. Installation was very simple. You can read more about it at:

On the drive shower my lube comes out looking like new.
No more chalky mess either.
