The saloon table in the 38xx boats is an unusual shape. It doesn't match the settee shape and is very heavy.
I decided to try some lighter materials and get the shape right. The first set of photos are up on the Project section of the BOC albums

Mike looks like a real upgrade to your boat. The table on the 2750 is also real heavy. How much lighter is your new table going to be? Kris :arr

Love it! I never could understand the original design that didn't fit the contours of the settee. You should go in business to make these tables! I will be the first to buy one. :-)

I estimate it will be less than 1/2 the weight Kris. The new plywoods are nice - very stable, light and strong. And no Formica!

I went to my dad's for this job Mike. It's heated and cleaner. The wood all came from Noah's.

That original table is the strangest thing, isn't it? I have no idea why they put that table into so many boats.

Woodworking projects make me respect the trades more and more. I'm convinced I can do as good a job as a pro but I'd be working for about $1 an hour.

Looks good Mike. My wife is hoping I can come up with a table top that has sides that you can fold down so she can use it as a coffee table and not have it so large all the time.
