Does anyone know why...........

When I post and the animated emotion-cons or whatever the h~ll you call them are in my display my laptop slows to a crawl ? Even the dancing things barely move, my curser seem like it is disconnected from the touch pad, when I type the letters appear on the screen eventually.

If I page down enough to get the stupid animated crap out of sight then everything returns to normal speed.

WHY ?????????????????????????

When I read the subject heading, I thought you were referring to my boat. :)

I scrolled down so I could reply at faster than Perkins speed:

I could understand if you were having this problem, with all the 5200 that must be on your keyboard. (imagine a smiley face here, STUPID ANIMATED CRAP!)

It is just the NSA scanning your computer. When they are done it will get better..........

Seriously, On my laptop it was a program running in the back ground, it was sucking up all the CPU speed updating itself. It took a few days but then it got better. (well more than one program was updating, Big one was Office 2010 was doing it's thing and sucking the life out of the interweb)

On a serious note, stop running Windows. There are no problems here in Ubuntu world.

Use Pale Moon as your browser. Clean, fast, can add ad busters for free so you never see any ads on any websites or email sites like Hotmail, etc.

I don't see any slow down with dancing stuff either...

I use Mozilla, don't have any issues with ads or other crap.

What I have discovered is that this issue is only on my laptop, my desktop at work which also runs Mozilla has no issues with the dancing icons.

For whatever reason my laptop appears to be semi-hosed. (INSERT SAD FACE)

Running Windows and Internet Explorer usually contributes to the problem. Take a look at Task Manager/Processes/CPU and see if there is something there eating up your CPU time. Also, sometimes Windows Automatic Updates run and can slow down the system. I use Pale Moon and rarely ever use IE.
