Any chance we can reduce/delete the yellow forum announcements/notes above? They are a bit lengthy and always requires scrolling just to get to the posts and forum sub sections, particularly when using a device with a small screen.

Just "x" out of it and you'll never see it again.

Huh. Maybe I'm lucky. I don't see any. Whenever I see one, I read it and then I "x" out of it and I never see it again. And I usually visit BOC on my iPad and/or droid phone, and only once in a while on the computer. Weird.

One needs to sign in to eliminate the notices. They are all dismissible and are for new members and to let everyone know of something that each member needs to be aware of. It is the way the forum works. It's built in and assumes you are visiting and logged in. There is no other way for me to activate the dismiss button unless you log in.

I don't understand what the problem is to not be logged in so one can dismiss the notices. By checking the "keep logged in" button, you NEVER have to see those notices again unless I post a new notice or do an upgrade (which will be happening sometime in the future).

Log in, select the "Keep Logged In" button and don't worry about it. You can go into your CP and select to stay invisible... (IE, your name won't show up as logged on at the bottom of the forum). :beer-

Browsers can be set up to "clear all history on exit," etc.... therefore, the "remember me" gets cleared every time. While I won't go through all the scenarios, having a browser remember all your passwords can be a bit of a security risk. A potential new member may also see all the messages as a distraction Or they might see ones that are "old" or irrelevant and think the site isn't updated. In my case, I tend to read a lot more than I write, so I don't always log in (it just depends what device I'm on etc...).
