I am with you on that! Our Princess oven quit last week also. Are you sure it isn't a 25 dollar part from Sure Marine in Seattle? The oven thermostat (control nob) has a hot wire going to it with a thermo coupler in it. If you run the broiler without opening the door of the oven it will over heat and blow. It is an easy check to see if this is the problem with pulling the wire and testing it with an electric meter.

Now... Mine blew the thermo coupler wire, I wired around it and fried the thermostat... Ordered a new thermo coupler wire today and a universal control thermostat ( since a new thermostat is not available any longer).

I might be in for a new range also... But I am not willing to toss out the 1500 bucks just yet.

Good luck from a fellow Olympian.

Gee, my oven just quit working as well.... where did you find the universal controller?

Debating if this is the time to yard it out and convert to Propane.

It is part number 6700S0011. I googled the number and ordered it on Amazon. There were plenty of websites that carried it.

I have not received it yet, nor installed it. So, I can't verify if it will be my solution yet. Talking to Sure Marine in Seattle yesterday, they said this would work on my stove. Not a direct switch out part, but it should wire in if I can make any sense of the wiring.

I have a Seaward Princess Electric Range. Model 3342. If this doesn't work, it will be a new stove installed.

If you have the same stove I do. Be advised there is a safety shutoff in back, at the top, under the lid.

It shuts the stove off if the lid is not all the way back and "nested" down on to the switch.

I have replaced the switch on 5 units that have either failed or come loose and broken on the mountings to date. It's easy to check, just jumper the 110 leads in the back and see if it comes on.

Yes I know about the safety. All other functions on the stove work including the broiler. I have not tried the thermocouple, I guess this is the cheapest part to start with, then the oven control.

Thanks, Gary

The top burners work, just the oven went out. I didn't trouble shoot it just suspect its the controller.
We put in propane.

If the burners operate correctly, don't forget to switch the Burner/Oven toggle switch to Oven or the oven will not operate.
