Got this off the Italian FB page. Supposed to be a VR4 I/O.

Worth saying again as a buyer in this segment of the market....nice design now go get some COLOR....should be easy...gel coat and fabric, maybe some tasteful graphics but go easy on the vinyl. Need inspiration? Visit a seadoo dealer and copy their most popular colors.

Sidebar:

Say what you want about the Aztek, there are two MAJOR accomplishments with that car that will raise its standing later on:

1. It was, arguably, THE first car based crossover in the modern sense, with no real pretenses of off road capability.
2. Walter White owned one.

This is kind of funny because I showed this video to my local Bayliner dealer the same time I posted it here, and when I visited him today he had an amusing story.
Seems when he saw it from me, he showed it to his Bayliner district rep for the Pacific NW, and she was not amused. He said she was indigent and stated that SHE hadn't even been able to PICTURES of it yet, and for a video of it to turn up on the web wasn't right. He said she also showed the video up the Bayliner/Brunswick ladder. My local dealer thought if was funny as heck.
But Yes...I have a hunch that the video was taken down after pressure from Bayliner. LMBO

I was an engineer for a well known general aviation manufacturer and one of our prototype planes which was built in a secured facility and test flown from an AFB showed up on the internet. It happens.

Yep. ANd if we're dealing with staggered launch dates globally and boats being put in public by design (launching them on a water system) it's bound to happen somehow.

Fun story: Back when I was invited to the Bayliner Element reveal in Sarasota, it was my first press trip, and I was so excited. I checked into my room in a high rise hotel, that happened to overlook the marina where all the boats were docked. We had not signed any confidentiality agreements at that point, and it was clear the docks were open to the public.

So I walked down, took some pics of the Element, and posted one up on Facebook as a "hey, look where I am, can you believe it!" post.

I later that evening ran into some higher ups, and as we were talking, they told me about the plan to officially reveal the boat later that winter, and not to post any pictures or information at all.

I excused myself to the bathroom before I s**t my pants, and made a crazed dash to my FB page to remove the post of the Element.

So yeah, these things happen.

Sure would love to see this show up on the Bayliner website with all the options available on the "Build It" selection. I've pretty well decided on the Sea Ray SPX 190 OB with a 150 merc, but I sure wouldn't rule this out if it becomes available before I pull the trigger no later than March of next year.
Probably save at least $5K, Love the transom and rear seating. Also, it has finished floors, and not the Fuzzy carpet still being shipped with the 180 OB.
Somehow I doubt that Bayliner will have good color selection though as others have stated repeatedly. Black and Blue with brown or white seats is hardly inspiring.

Interesting looking boats - I kinda like them. But my use for a boat that size is a bit different - as a tender it needs to support a (prawn) trap hauler, fishing rods/down riggers and taking the dog to the shore.. None of that's happening in those boats - too bad, missed market..

Bayliner doesn't miss markets. Marketing analysis is something they are exceedingly good at. If the market is big enough to justify the business case, the boat is built. If not, then it's a niche product and Bayliner simply won't build a niche product.

In plain English, Bayliner is not interested in the tender market. THeir target market is young families.

I understand that the boat in the video has some extra cushion panels fitted, but the general layout on the VR4 "prototype" seems a bit clunky. The Elements (and old 175) seem to absolutely maximise seating and available space, whereas the VR4 seems to miss the mark.

Do you know how much the Sea Ray SPX190 OB is going for out the door? I know the pricing on the VR4 are not out yet but I cannot imagine the price being within $10k of each other.

I have a rough quote on The Sea Ray SPX190 OB with a 150 Merc at $33K out the door. Not counting sales tax.

Was referring to the Sea Ray and it seems like it would be a fun boat with the 150hp.
