How does your boat perform? What pitch prop are you running?

For now I'm running whatever stock aluminum prop the factory cheaps out on, I forget the numbers. I get 5800 RPM and 42MPH on calm water with light load. Good enough, is how it performs. I'm coming from a 220HP 1400lb dual engine screamer of a jetboat that would hit 60 and had a zero second plane time, so this new boat is quite sedate. But, it's a comfortable cruiser, which is what the wife and I wanted more than we wanted performance.

I get 40-42mph with two or three on board, full fuel,5800rpm with a 19p 3 blade prop, I put a 4 blade 19p Solas on it now, waiting to get on the water with it. Tried a 19p 4 blade CompProp ..great hole shot, was able to get and stay on plane at a lower speed, topped out at 40 at 5600-5800 rpm. clipped a piece of floating wood, took a small chunk out of one blade..CompProps cannot be repaired..your rig sounds like a nice boat,I've read and seen the on water tests.:arr

I'm really interested in how your Solas works out. I want to go stainless, but at the moment, the factory prop is going fine.

Aye, the boat is nice, certainly nicer for seating a group of people than my 1997 Exciter, but I really wish it had a fiberglass floor. Makes interior cleanup needlessly tedious because I can't just soap and hose down the salt spray and be done with it.

So as to stay marginally on-topic, this 4 stroke is nearly inaudible at idle, and since the Intracoastal in Broward county is nearly 100% no wake, this is a delightful change over the smoking, noisy, carbureted PWC engines in my last boat. I can see why some would want to ban 2 strokes.

I have a 95 Honda 2hp 4str and 2008 Merc 5hp 4str, talk about quiet even at full throttle 1/2 as noisy as a comparable 2str and they are fuel efficient.
