Here's the SF Bay approach.(the Pt.Bonita light) You need to contend with ships, wind, strong currents and breaking waves. You need to know what you're doing. It's best to come through here on slack tide. The heavy fog can conceal the approach in the summer. That's the Golden Gate in the background. When it's foggy, radar is a must. Viewed: 1701 times.

KFog KaBoom fireworks and Rock concert, SF May 12th, Pier 30. You can anchor out and have front row seats for the fireworks. It's a good idea to let the boats clear the anchorage before heading home. Viewed: 1530 times.

It's nice getting a break from the foggy, windy, sloppy and rough coastal waters. The SF Bay and Delta waters are calm and it's about 10 degrees warmer. Even so, you want to be tucked into a harbor before the afternoon winds blow. Viewed: 1529 times.

The boat is an 88 Bayliner 2556. It's one of the rare 9 1/2' wide boats.
